Who Went Where in Beauty in February 2025

February brought more changes in the C-suites of beauty, from the beauty conglomerates to high-growth independents. The Estée Lauder Companies saw its stock plummet on the news of cutting 5,800 to 7,000 jobs by the end of 2026. The layoffs are an extension of the company’s plan to reduce its headcount by 5%.Unilever CEO Hein Schumacher stepped down after less than two years in the job. Fernando Fernandez, Unilever's Chief Financial Officer and Executive Director, was appointed Chief Executive Officer effective March 1, 2025. Prior to becoming CFO in January 2024, Fernando had a successful tenure as President of Beauty & Wellbeing, one of Unilever’s fastest-growing businesses. Ulta Beauty has named Kelly Mahoney its new Chief Marketing Officer, succeeding Michelle Crossan-Matos, who left last month. Mahoney has been with the retailer for nearly a decade, most recently serving as SVP of Customer and Growth Marketing. Ali Goldstein, President of Acquisitions for L’Oréal USA, succeeds Carol Hamilton, who is retiring after 40 years with the company. She’ll report to David Greenberg, Chief Executive Officer of L’Oréal USA and President of the North America Zone. Since 2019, Goldstein served as US President of L’Oréal Paris. She joined L’Oréal USA in 2001, and served in leadership roles across L’Oréal Paris, Maybelline, and Garnier.L’Oréal Groupe appoints Christina Fair as the new President, Consumer Products Division for the North America Zone. Fair will be succeeding Nathalie Gerschtein.
